Who We Are
Elevate Dance Collective is a creative space where movement, artistry, and connection come together.
Founded by dancer and choreographer Leanka Barnard, EDC exists to support adults in rediscovering their love for dance while also delivering high-quality, professional performance work for events, brands, and productions.
Whether in the studio or on stage, EDC is about more than just movement — it’s about confidence, expression, and creating meaningful experiences through dance.
About Leanka (Founder)
Meet Leanka Barnard
I’m Leanka Barnard, a passionate dancer, choreographer, and performer who has been dancing since the age of three.
Dance has always been my language — a way to express, connect, and create.
I studied Musical Theatre and Dance at Oakfields College (2022–2024) and graduated at the beginning of 2025 after completing my final year in 2024. Prior to that, I took dance as a school subject at Hoërskool Waterkloof from Grade 10 to 12 and trained in RAD Ballet up to Advanced level.
Over the years, I’ve performed in a wide range of stage productions, music videos, and corporate events — including Godspell, Rhythmic Fusion, and commercial performances with Dreamcatcher Entertainment and La Rouge / The Bellas SA.
I also hold multiple Jazz-Ed International Teaching Certificates, which have strengthened both my technical foundation and my creative approach to choreography and teaching.
EDC is a reflection of my journey — blending professionalism, creativity, and a genuine love for dance

Our adult dance classes are designed to be:
Fun, supportive, and inclusive
Judgment-free and pressure-free
Focused on confidence, expression, and enjoyment
This is a space for adults of all levels — from beginners to professionals — to move freely, reconnect with their bodies, and enjoy learning without the stress of exams or expectations.
The Collectives (Performances & Choreography)
The performance side of EDC focuses on professional choreography and bookings for:
Corporate events
Brand activations
Music videos
Stage and themed performances
Each project is tailored with intention, combining strong technique, storytelling, and visual impact to create memorable experiences.
Our Vision
I started Elevate Dance Collective because I wanted to build something that was missing —
a safe, inspiring place for adults to dance, regardless of background or experience.
While my personal goal is to continue growing as a choreographer, my greater vision for EDC is to evolve into a creative hub that connects dancers, artists, and audiences through meaningful, exciting performance.
My goal is simple:
